Busy Busy!

Oh my gosh...in all the craziness of the last two months or so I just realized that I haven't taken a single picture of my children in at least a month.  Sounds bad right?  The photographer should have a million pictures of her kids (I do) displayed (I don't) in her house?  Well the cobblers kids need shoes...the plumbers toilets run and the painter needs to paint his house :)  So here are my wonderful boys.  Owen is almost 20 months.  He is a handful!  On the go constantly.  But is so sweet and loves to cuddle!  Ethan will be 4 in a month.  He also is staring preschool in 10 days.  I promise to have plenty first day of preschool pics!  He is so excited.  I am too!  I know he is going to love it.  We will be starting MOPS again in a week so we both are looking forward to that too!  We continue to have a very busy life.  I have been given the opportunity to do some freelance photography work for a few of San Diegos Community Colleges.  I start in a few weeks and I am really excited about this opportunity.  This adds to our plate, but we can handle it :)   Life is full in every way......all in good ways!

Precious Life

My Aunt Eleanor is famous in our family for sending out cards.  If it is your birthday and you think no one will remember or get you anything.  You can always count on a card from Aunt Eleanor.  Now that I am married I also get an anniversary card to.  As I am typing I am realizing that I have never sent her a card.  I need to do that.  Any way she asked me to come and photograph her boyfriend and his family.  He has terminal cancer and wanted some pictures of him, his son and daughter, his grandson and my aunt.  I wasn't sure at first.  Thinking that is a really sad situation.  I always shoot happy events....weddings, babies and such.  I went, as a favor to my Aunt.  It wasn't so sad after all.  I left actually feeling good.  Thinking that now they have family pictures together....a first for them.  Also thinking maybe I could do this once or twice a month for families in similar situations.  My God heals, I will continue to pray and believe that God can heal him.

8/8/08 <3 Josh & Mandy

One of the great things about being a photographer is all the really cool people I get to meet.  These to were soooo great!  Their whole family was awesome.  They had their reception at The Woods in Eastlake, CA.  AMAZING.  We only had about an hour for portraits....I was bummed that place had limitless photo ops!  Mandy's dress has a really cool story.  She had it custom made.  The top part is of her mothers wedding dress and the bottom lace part is from her grandmothers wedding dress.  The lace was over 50 years old.  I love those sentimental touches.

Daylin - 3 weeks

OK, I have to admit, hanging out with Daylin for a couple hours did make me want to have another baby. Keyword:did.  LOL.  I was snapped right back into reality when I got home and my boys were running wild!  There is something so precious about a newborn....very hard to resist.  She is so adorable.  Newborns are hard to shoot.  But we did manage to get some keepers!  Check back as you will see Daylin 4 more times over the next year.....watch her grow!  I love my job :)

Taylar Take 2

You may recognize Taylar from our previous shoot in La Jolla.  During our first session her mother asked if I would take the Family Portraits when the Dad flew in from Illinois.  Well Dad never made it out so it was going to be Taylar, Mom and the grandparents.  We met at the Hotel Del but it was only Mom and Taylar.  Mom (Robin) didn't feel like being in any pictures so it was Taylar.....again :)  I don't mind!  This darling is great to work with.  She knows how to pick her clothes and knows how to pose.  I just absolutely love these two!  Can't wait to see you ladies next year!

Allyshia P.-Kearny High 2009

I met Allyshia, her Mom, Dad and bff/stylist in gorgeous Coronado.  The weather was great and so was Allyshia.  She is full of energy and loves to act silly :)  It was lots of fun hanging out and she was game for just about anything.  Here are just a handful of the pictures from the shoot.  I haven't blogged in a while.  I have been super busy.  I had some 2000 pictures to go through from two senior portrait sessions and two weddings.  I am slowly seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.  My goal is to be done by Friday.....keeping my fingers crossed.  Check back :)

Amanda C's Maternity Shoot

Amanda is due with their first child in September.  We met at Wind & Sea Beach in La Jolla.  The marine layer was present so we didn't get a great sunset.  But on the other hand that is nice for me as I don't have to deal with shadows.  They are a really sweet couple and I get to see them again in a couple weeks for her studio session.   Stay tuned.

Taylar A.-Class of 2009

I had the pleasure of shooting Taylar A.'s Senior Portraits.  She is adorable!  She is so cute that it made my job easy!  We went to the Ocean Beach Pier and Sunset Cliffs.  Taylar actually lives in Illinois.   Can you believe they flew out here just to have ME do her portraits?  Well don't believe it....... she and her (wonderful) Mother are out visiting family and checking into colleges for Taylar.  ;) I had a great time meeting them and you can tell that they are really close.  I get to meet Dad in a  week or so as they have asked me to shoot their Family Portraits too!
