Kimberly - Hot Mama!

This family was so much fun. Kimberly is due any minute now and she was such a trooper through out the whole shoot.  She was up for everything.  Since we were using the dark background I decided to go with the dramtic look on most of her shots.  Her skin is great and really looks amazing in black and white.  Can't wait for the Newborn shoot!

The Del Mar Fair

Nick & Ethan

Pikachu..Ethan's new fav character
Grandma Deb showing Owen the ropes
Wonder what he was telling his Daddy about?

I love the Del Mar Fair.  OK the San Diego Fair, I just can't get used to that.  I have so many wonderful memories of the Del Mar Fair.  My grandparents would take my cousin Michelle and I every year.  We would ride The Zipper over and over and over.  Good times :)  Now I get to be  part of the memories of my children.  I thank God for the wonderful family he has blessed me with and especially the precious gift of my boys....all three of them :)

A little behind :)

Marc & Owen
Christian Correll.....so sweet!
OK, so I am a little behind on my blogging and my life...lol.  Here are a few pictures from my session with Baby Christian.  I know Christian from church (well I know his Mom) and I think he is a sweetie!  Infant portraits can  be very tricky.  They really don't have a lot of different expressions so all the pictures can look the same.  But I think this little guy is a natural born model.  The first picture is of Marc and Owen. One of the things I do, as weird as it may sound, is when I am sitting with my camera on my lap (from my lap) I will take pictures.  I usually angle the camera and just shoot.  I have no idea what I am going to get in the frame.  Sometimes I get some really cool stuff.  I thought this was a really sweet picture of Owen and Marc from my lap. :)

A weekend of firsts!

We had a nonstop weekend that started off Friday.  I had the opportunity to shoot for The Arts Off Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors.  So cool.  Unfortunately the dress rehearsal got started late so I had to leave 10 minutes into the play.  I managed to grab a few shots before I left.  First #1: I have never shot in such low light conditions before.  Very tricky.  But so much fun.  I wanted to stay so bad, but couldn't.  First #2:  Saturday we had a garage sale!  I have been to many (anyone who knows my Dad knows he should have one of those "this truck stops at every garage sale" stickers) and helped out at my parents, buy never had one of my own.  Lots of fun.  For a last minute deal I managed to make $135.  Not bad.  I left the garage sale to go and do an infant portrait session....First #3.  Tricky.  Not only had I never done an infant session, I had never shot at someones house.  No pictures yet....I am a little behind :)  First #4:  THIS IS HUGE.....I GOT MY iMAC!!  FULLY LOADED!  OH MY GOSH!  It is gorgeous.  My monitor is 24 inches.  Viewing my pictures on it is amazing!  I will post pictures of the infant session and my iMac next time :)  Off to bed as I am exhausted.....I have a huge week ahead of me.  No rest for me until next Sunday.

Mercedes Class of 2008

Holy Moly! This girl is going to break some hearts. She is beautiful. It was so much fun working with her. She is a natural. When I was reviewing my images I was blown away. The first ones were good, but as I got further into them they became amazing. I was having a hard time picking which ones to use. You can see a few more on my website (www.marisahaasphotography.com) or my smugmug (www.marisahaas.smugmug.com) for the full gallery. I choose these 3 pictures randomly, really you need to check out my smugmug.
