So Excited!

I am FINALLY getting started on my website. Now the hard part, picking the pictures that I want to use. All of a sudden nothing is good enough....yikes! I am having so much fun looking through tons of pictures. 150 GB of pictures to be exact. I found this one of Ethan when he was just 2. That was a year and a half ago. Where does the time go? I miss his sweet curls.

New Logo!

It is official, I have a logo! What do you think? I have spent (wasted) many hours trying to design one. I finally gave up and found someone to do it for me. She did a great job. If you happen to be wanting a logo I can give you her information. Her price was great :) I am at a bit of a standstill with my website, or lack there of. STILL waiting. Hopefully soon. I don't feel that I can really get myself out there with out a website. Oh well. On a more exciting note, I am going to do some promo shots for a local theatre group on Saturday. I am really looking forward to that. This is a picture of a Bird of Paradise after a morning rain. This has become one of my favorite pictures. Funny thing is that Birds of Paradise are my least favorite flower. Ironic, don't you think?

Website Woes

I am trying so hard to get my photography website up and running. I purchased a site from bludomain. They have really nice flash websites. But their customer service is no bueno! I can't totally blame them, I knew before I bought it that sometimes they have issues. So I have been waiting very impatiently since last Thursday for my site details. I guess there is a lesson in this. Will http://www.marisahaasphotography.com/ ever become more than just a vision? That sounds so dramatic. Vision.....that's for you babe :) This picture is of Erica and her cute little girl Elena. Can you just feel the love?

And Away I go.....

Anyone who has ever been to the Del Mar Horse races might remember hearing the announcer say "and away they go" in his cute little accent. That means the race has started. That is pretty much how I am feeling these days. I am about to really step out of my comfort zone.

Photography is my passion. I am a photographer. I love taking pictures, I love editing pictures, I love reading about photography. I love everything about it. I have recently been moved to really start pursuing it as more than just a hobby. I have a website that I hope to have finished in a couple of weeks. I am having business cards made. I am even getting a business license. So official :) I have amazing friends who have allowed me to photograph them over the last couple of weeks to help build my portfolio. The picture shown is the very lovely (and talented) Maddie. When she asked me to do headshots for her I was so exicited. I knew she would be great in front of the camera.
I have no idea what may become of this venture. I am scared, putting myself out there, possibly for failure. The one thing I do know is that when I put all my trust in Him great things WILL happen.
