8, 9, 10 of 52 || Our Vacation || San Diego Photographer
This might be cheating a bit in my 52 week project, but at least I am caught up now :) Nick and I had the amazing opportunity to get away on a vacation ALONE. We knew this would be our last opportunity for a least a year and a half with the baby coming. We originally wanted to go on a cruise. However I couldn't sail after 24 weeks pregnant and all the good cruises started when I was 24 weeks. So we went with plan B. Which was to visit some spots right here in lovely California. I knew I wanted to go to Yosemite. Then we added Monterey, Solvang, and Disneyland to our plans. Our first stop was Yosemite. OMGosh! Is all I can say. It has been almost 11 years since we have been there. It was even more beautiful then I remembered! These pictures do Yosemite NO justice. I was almost to overwhelmed to take pictures. I just wanted to observe and be in awe of God's handy work.
A woodsy path.
A RARE picture of me :) 6 months pregnant :)
My most handsome husband,
Some where between Yosemite and Monterey.
Cannery Row - Monterey
We spent several hours at the Aquarium in Monterey. It was amazing. I think I had the most fun taking pictures here :)
I think this critter is called a Bat Ray. Nick said it was super cool to touch. I wouldn't touch it. Not to fond of slimy things. These guys were almost friendly. They would come to you when you put your hand in the water. They also would bob their heads up out of the water so you could touch them. Super cool to watch ;)
A piece of kelp that I found interesting.
I probably could have stood for hours and taken pictures of these guys. Just beautiful.
This is in Solvang. It is a picturesque town in Santa Ynez. We spent just a couple of hours here. We had a great breakfast and window shopped.
A view point between Solvang and Disneyland.
I missed the boys so much the whole trip. I am sure the pregnancy hormones weren't helping anything. I only called them two times. I would just sob after each phone call so I didn't want to torture myself to much by calling 3 times a day. Most nights I would get weepy around dinner time. Just thinking about how I missed them I am tearing up now and we have been back together for two days :) We ended our vacation in Disneyland. As a surprise to the boys we had Nick's parents bring them up and meet us there. They knew they were going to Disneyland but they didn't know we were going to be there. Nick and I sat, very impatiently, at a bench at the end of Main Street. We see the boys coming towards us. And we just watch as the almost pass us by before they noticed us. I was so happy to see them! This is the only picture I took at Disneyland at Ethan's request. Owen was asleep so he missed out. We stayed one more night in the hotel with the boys. Which they love staying at hotels. We went out to dinner at South Coast Plaza to the Claim Jumper. We got the HUGE piece of chocolate cake for dessert. I believe it is called the Mother Load. We split it into four equal pieces. The boys ate almost all of their piece!. I was shocked! When we gave it to them I thought there was no way they finish their piece...but they came pretty darn close! Thank you Nett for the sweet hook up on hotel rooms! Debbie and Jae this wouldn't have been possible with out you two! We are so grateful! NICK!!!! Thank you so much for planning this vacation! You only thought of me (as usual) and wanted this to be about me! And it was amazing! I am so glad that we 'made it a good blog!!' I love you!!

OMG. I am so glad you two had a wonderful trip. Love the vertical pic of the waterfall AND all the aquarium pics. What ISO did you use? It's only feeding my hunger to get the 7D!
What a wonderful vacation! I just love Josemite! I'm so glad to see it hasn't changed that much. I especially loved the waterfall & jellyfish pics. Good job!
All of these pictures are so great!!! I especially love the Jelly Fish pictures. I love the water droplets and the water fall ... and ... ALL OF THEM!!!
So glad you guys are home safe and sound! Can't wait to see you!
Thanks! The aquarium was so much fun! Nett I used ISO's ranging between 800-3200! The more orange jellyfish were all at iso 2000. The more golden jellyfish were all at iso 3200! I am pretty sure the 7d does better with noise then the 40d. From what I have read the 5d still does better with noise than the 7d. I think it has something to do with full frame.
Glad you had a great vacation and took some awesome photos. I love the underwater ones. The color is amazing. You made me tear up about you missing the boys. I totally know what you are talking about. Now I want to go on vacation, haha.
