"Let's Make It A Good Blog"
"Do we have to take pictures?" say the photographers kids ;)
As they get older they are a little more willing to be.......
............in each others space.
Desert Flowers
No words to explain.......
"Lets Make It A Good Blog" may be some of the most inspiring words Nick has ever said to me. Here is how it came about. We had decided to take a trip out to Borrego Springs so I could get some pictures of the desert flowers. We all were so excited. So we packed the kids up and hit the road on Wednesday. We had been so busy that morning that we forgot one thing.....to eat!
Nick & Marisa + No Food = Bad Attitudes! We managed to make it to Borrego with out killing each other. The kids did great, they slept most of the time in the car. We got into Borrego and stopped at a resturant by day, bar by night to eat. Poor Ethan got car sick. As soon as we parked the car he got sick. But he didn't let that stop him. And was so excited when the waiter brought him a 7up with a cherry in it! Honestly that was the highlight of his trip! After lunch we headed to the State Park HQ to ask them where the best spot for flowers was. Things didn't go so smoothly there. Owen was a maniac! He was running all over the place. Which would have been fine if there weren't cactus about every other foot! It was nerve racking. We had to get out of there. I was frustrated, Owen was crying, Nick and I were on edge with each other. We get in the car to leave. At this point I just wanted to go home. And he says enough of this....."Lets make it a good blog". It made so much sense to me. He was right! We ended up just driving out to a familiar place. Ocotillo Wells. Nick and I share so many memories there together. We spent many, many weekends there with his brother Steve and Nett. Good times! I haven't been there in a few years but it felt just the same, like I hadn't been gone more than a few weeks. We found a nice place to park. The kids ran around, threw rocks and shouted so they could here their voices echo. I wandered off looking for any kind of desert flower...there weren't very many. When I came back I found Nick sitting in the shade of our vehicle reading the Bible to our boys. I can't explain the feeling that gave me. It was beautiful. We ended up having an awesome day. Nick, thank you for your inspiring quote. You inspire me with the way you love me, you inspire me with the way you love our boys and you inspire me with the way you love God. You are my impossible. I love you!

Oh ... I also LOVE the pictures of your boys!!! Pretty soon you'll only be able to get candid shots of them. My kids won't 'pose' anymore they give me goofy faces or just act like they can't see the camera! ;o) LOL
Love your blog girl!
I love reading the love you and Nick have. Through thick and thin, you two come together... and it's beautiful!!!
I also love your style with your pictures :)
The picture of Nick is classic, should be framed. Words can't describe it. Beautiful!
Amazing! Marc and I are so lucky to have you guys as friends.
Marisa, thank you for sharing that. It made me cry. There is nothing like a man/father that reads the bible for himself and to his children. You both are blessed. Love, Kelly
